Reinhold Niebuhr wrote a prayer that many of you will recognize. It goes roughly: "Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference." What does this have to do with looking for a job?

Solid advice. We receive similar advice from our career team at UCLA Anderson. They teach that every bullet should be in the SAR format: Situation, Action, Result. A lot of the emphasis comes in the results portion backed up by specific numbers.

100% agree. I remember one piece of advice I got early on was that measured results matter. So rather than say, "Coordinated events for our marketing club," it would be better to say something like "Coordinated five events with ten speakers and saw a consistent increase of 10% in attendance with each new event."
